PrEP South America is a qualitative study, based on an ethnographic approach in health, that seeks to understand the experiences of access, use, and management of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention in South American countries. Our team is composed of researchers from different fields within the humanities, social sciences, and health sciences, located across all macro-regions of Brazil, as well as in Argentina, Bolivia, and Colombia. We hope this initiative contributes to PrEP science in a situated way and promotes a more humanized approach to HIV prevention, both within the context of the Brazilian public health system (SUS) and in other South American countries. This research is funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Brazilian Ministry of Health (Decit/SECTICS/MS and Dathi/SVSA/MS).
